New Delhi: Pramukh Pravesh Nanda, a prominent figure in Gujarat’s automobile industry and Director at Cargo Motors, has been confirmed among the victims of the tragic Air India flight crash on Thursday.
ETAuto has learnt that Nanda was traveling to London with his wife, Neha Pramukh, and younger son, Prayash Pramukh, to attend the convocation ceremony of their elder son.
Established in October 1985, Cargo Motors is a key dealership partner of Tata Motors for commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses. The company has built a strong presence across Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan, playing a significant role in the automotive retail and service ecosystem.
Nanda’s untimely passing marks a considerable loss for the regional automotive community, where he was regarded as a respected leader and influential industry voice.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that the pilots of AI 171 issued a Mayday call to air traffic control (ATC), but no further communication was received after that.
The flight, which departed Ahmedabad at 1:38 PM for London’s Gatwick Airport, was carrying 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian, according to the airline.
