Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) today announced a significant milestone for its Magnite. The Magnite has been doing pretty well in the global as well as Indian market with Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ philosophy.

Nissan Magnite CNG launched

Nissan has introduced the CNG variant of its well-known compact SUV, the Magnite, with prices commencing at 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Unlike several competitors that provide factory-installed CNG kits, the Magnite CNG features a dealer-level retrofitment, indicating that the CNG kit is fitted at authorised centres after the vehicle has left the factory.

The CNG kit for the Magnite is designed, produced, and quality-checked by Motozen, an external vendor. It includes a 12 kg single-cylinder configuration and is installed at government-approved fitment centers. Motozen offers warranty coverage for the components of the CNG kit, while Nissan maintains its standard three-year or 1 lakh km warranty on the vehicle, even with the retrofitment.

Although it is a more economical choice, the Magnite CNG still provides a well-appointed interior. It is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, push-button start/stop, USB Type-C ports, and automatic climate control. In terms of safety, it includes six airbags as standard, along with Vehicle Dynamic Control, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ABS with EBD, Hydraulic Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a high-speed alert system.

The retrofitment kit is available for 75,000 and can be added to any variant of the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol-powered Magnite. Given that the base petrol version starts at 6.14 lakh, the CNG variant is priced from 6.89 lakh. This positions it as one of the most cost-effective CNG-equipped SUVs in India, particularly when compared to competitors with factory-installed kits.
